Background

The activities within DIGICOM Work Package 3 started with a review of the existing ESS Linked Open Data (LOD) portals and related use cases.

The Linked Open Statistics ESSnet developed further recommendations for the implementation of the Linked Open Statistical Data Hub. 

In addition, the Linked Open Statistical Data Hub (a prototype for the ESS open data gateway) is used by some NSIs to disseminate selected datasets as Linked Open Data.

Moreover, Eurostat developed a proof of concept for the use of pseudo knowledge graphs to facilitate search and discovery in the form of a prototype (in a test environment, based on selected use cases and data sources), freely available online.
