Reusing Mobile Network Operator data for Official Statistics: a methodological European perspective (Presentation)

​Eurostat will present the current state of the play and future perspective about the use of mobile phone data for official statics in Europe, based on the work by the Task Force on MNO data (TF-MNO). The presentation will provid​e details about the scope and goals of two projects that were launched recently, based on input from TF-MNO, for methodological co-development (Multi-MNO call) and research (MBGA research grant). Finally, it will report on the position paper that is currently being prepared by the TF MNO.

Eurostat will present and motivate the concept of  Multi-Party Secure Private Computing-as-a-service (MPSPCaaS), elaborated in the scope of the UNECE HLG-MOS project on Input Privacy-Preservation as a pragmatic way to foster the ado​ption of Input Privacy technologies across the ESS. The presentation will provide a high-level view of the key technical, legal and organisational challenges to be addressed, and the possible solution approaches that are planned to be worked out in the scope of a project planned to be launched by Eurostat in 2023.
