This survey was launched by ISTAT in December 1993. At the end of each year, it detects the fundamental aspects of daily life and behavior relating to the year in course.
Thematic areas varied from one another in the questionnaires and facilitates understanding of how people live, whether they are satisfied with the essentials related to their quality of life.
The main content of the survey include: family, home, residential area, education and training, domestic work and work away from home, commuting, leisure and social activities, lifestyles and health conditions, drug consumption and the use of health services, and the operation of public utilities.
The survey was first conducted in December of 1993, then conducted in November from 1994 to
2003, in March of 2005, in February in 2006 to 2008, and in March from 2009 to 2012.
