Dissemination Workshop ESSnet Big Data SGA-1 - Sofia, 23-24 February 2017

ESSnet Big Data organises a Dissemination Workshop in Sofia (BG) on Thursday 23 and Friday 24 February 2017 to present the results of the first specific grant agreement (SGA-I).

Objectives

The main objective of the Dissemination Workshop is to share and discuss the results of the different workpackages of the project's first specific grant agreement (SGA-I) with all participants and with stakeholders from non-participating ESS Member States, Eurostat and the rest of the European Commission, international organisations, private companies owning or processing big data, and academia. SGA-I started in February 2016 and runs for 18 months until July 2017.

Additionally, the second specific grant agreement (SGA-II) will be presented; it is expected to start in January 2017 and to continue for 17 months until the end of the project in May 2018. Finally, a broader discussion will be held on the possible impact of the project's results on official statistics in the short, medium and long term.

The Dissemination Workshop opens for registration at 08:30 on Thursday 23 February 2017 and will finish by 13:30 on Friday 24 February 2017. The present state of the programma, which will continue to evolve, can be viewed here.

Participation in the Dissemination workshop is free but limited.

If you wish to attend, please send the completed registration form with your name, function, country, organisation and contact information to ESS-bdw-Sofia2017@nsi.bg. You will receive a confirmation of your attendance as soon as possible.

Venue

The Dissemination Workshop takes place in Sofia Hotel Balkan, 5 Sveta Nedelya Square, Sofia, 1000, Bulgaria, in the Sredetz Ballroom.

Hotel reservations

A quota of 60 hotel rooms has been set aside at the Sofia Hotel Balkan for participants of the Dissemination Workshop. If you want to reserve one of these rooms, please complete the hotel registration form and send it to reservation@sofiabalkan.net (hotel reservation and payment are at the responsibility of individual participants).

The quota of 60 rooms will be available on a first-come first-served basis until 23 January 2017.

Transportation

Buffet lunch 23 February 2017

A free buffet lunch will be offered to participants on 23 February 2017 at noon in the Banquet Lobby / Art Gallery of the Sofia Hotel Balkan.

Social dinner 23 February 2017

M. Sergey Tzvetarsky, President of the Bulgarian National Statitical Institute (BNSI), kindly invites Dissemination Workshop participants to a social dinner offered by BNSI at the restaurant Edno Vreme on Thursday 23 February 2017 at 19:30.

Participants are requested to confirm their attendance at the social dinner during the registration and welcome session at the beginning of the workshop.
