Abstract
The LFS measures the labour status and other characteristics of the population in an averaged week in each quarter, by spreading the sample uniformly over all the weeks of the quarter. The Slovakian Labour Force Survey started in 1993 as a continuous, quarterly survey using seasonal quarters. In 2000 the Slovakian LFS moved to calendar quarters. The whole country is covered. Only private households are surveyed. Participation in the survey is compulsory.
