Learning Conditions Monitor has been conducted periodically by Statistics Norway as an additional survey to the Labour Force Survey (AKU) every 1st quarter since 2003. The survey aims to identify the conditions for learning and skills among adults, with particular emphasis on working life.
As of the 1st quarter of 1972, Statistics Norway (SSB) has conducted official quarterly labour force surveys (AKU). These surveys aim to give the labour force authorities (and other people interested) knowledge of the occupational structure of the population and how it develops over time. AKU significantly changed in 1996. As from 2006 some new changes were also introduced, mainly in order to make AKU more comparable to similar surveys in other countries.
