Full name of the series in original language
Schweizerische Arbeitskräfteerhebung (SAKE) / Enquête suisse sur la population active (ESPA)
Abstract

The main purpose of the Swiss Labour Force Survey (SLFS) is to provide information about the structure of the labour force and employment behaviour patterns. Dynamic aspects of the labour market could also be examined, since participants are interviewed four times over a period of one and a half year.
According to yearly modules, additional themes are also addressed :
- Continuous Education and Training (1996, 1999, 2003, 2006, 2009)
- Mobility and Migration (1998, 2001, 2003, 2008)
- Social Security (2002, 2005, 2008)
- Unpaid Work (1997, 2000, 2004, 2007, 2010)
- Reconciliation between work and family life (2005)

Conducted annually until 2009, SLFS has become continuous since 2010, generating quarterly and annually results and datasets.
Since 2003, the survey has also included an additional sample of foreign nationals.
