Full name of the series in original language
Uporaba informacijsko-komunikacijske tehnologije v podjetjih
Abstract

Usage of information-communication technologies in enterprises (IKT-PODJ) is an annual sample survey about the usage of information-communication technologies (ICT) in enterprises. It is used to obtain information if the enterprises in Slovenia use computers, computer networks, have access to the Internet (types of Internet connections), have a website and its sofistification, if they automatically electronically share data (between enterprise and ICT systems outside the enterprise, on Supply Chain Management, within the enterprise), if they conduct e-commerce via websites or electronic data interchange (the extent – percentages). The data are an important source for conducting policies in the field of information society in Slovenia as well as in the European Union. Beside standard questions a special module with questions from the field of ICT is included in the survey, each year a different one: Skills (2007), E-business (2008), E-commerce (2009), ICT security (2010), E-government usage and ICT usage and environmental impact (2011) and Mobile connection to the Internet for business use (2012). Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia conducts the IKT-PODJ survey in the frame of the Eurostat guidelines on the basis of model questionnaire. Therefore, the data are internationally comparable. Harmonised surveys are conducted in all EU member states. The observation units are enterprises registered on the territory of the Republic of Slovenia performing activities by NACE classification (NACE Rev. 2). The basis for the sampling frame is the Business Register of the Republic of Slovenia. The data is collected by mail with a paper questionnaire. Data obtained with the survey are unfortunately not always comparable with published data from previous years due to changes in classifications.
