Digitalisation

The October 2021 ESSC endorsed the action plan setting a way forward for the ESS towards better measurement of digitalisation and its impact on the economy and society. Eurostat will present the priorities identified as well as the actions listed in the ESSC document and will summarise the outcomes of the ESSC discussions. The DIME-ITDG will be invited to follow-up on the ESSC conclusions.

NACE Rev. 2.1 – State of Play

Eurostat will present the latest developments concerning the review of NACE, the planned next steps, and inform about the timetable for implementation of NACE Rev. 2.1 in the different European statistics products.

SDMX 3.0 Draft Implementation Roadmap

At the end of 2021, the SDMX Sponsors published SDMX 3.0. SDMX 3.0 is a new version of the SDMX standard, which will simplify the management of SDMX objects and allow the SDMX standard to better cover the exchange of microdata and geospatial data.

Eurostat will present a roadmap for the implementation of SDMX 3.0 for data and metadata exchange in the ESS. DIME/ITDG members are expected to provide feedback on the presented roadmap and to share information on relevant ongoing implementation actions at national level.

Introduction of 2-Factor Authentication for Eurostat applications

Eurostat will present the roadmap for the introduction of 2FA for Eurostat’s data and metadata exchange tools (EDAMIS and ESS Metadata Handler).

ESS Standardisation

Eurostat will report on recent developments in the field of standardisation in the ESS, and in particular on the implementation status of the SDMX and SIMS standards for data and metadata exchange.

Legislative Developments

Eurostat will provide information on the latest developments related to legislation that is particularly relevant to the ESS. The two most important current initiatives discussed are the Data Act and the revision of Reg. 223/2009.
