Abstract

The European Statistics on Income and living conditions were carried out in Germany for the first time in 2005. The study is designed as a rotational panel which allows for collecting both cross sectional and longitudinal data. Every wave approximately 14000 private households and all persons over age 16 living in them are surveyed. The survey focuses primarily on the topics income, accommodations, health, child care, employment and wealth. Additionally ad-hoc modules are carried out every year which cover a number of additional topics.
