Abstract

The Eurostudent Survey gives an insight into the quality of life of the increasing diversity of students in Irish higher education, and into how this affects their learning experience.
The project focuses on the socio-economic background and on the living conditions of students, but it also investigates temporary international mobility.
The aim of which is to allow for comparative analysis of student’s living and studying experiences in order to better understand the national situation and assess the strengths and weaknesses of their respective frameworks in a view of maintaining or improving effectiveness.
The Eurostudent project provides comparative data on the social dimension of higher education across Europe.

The first Eurostudent Survey was undertaken in 2000 and the second in 2003.
